Medicare is a federal health insurance plan that seeks to benefit people who meet the qualifications to apply, giving them the opportunity to get help with the cost of medical care for certain pathologies. This insurance includes other plans such as Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplemental Policies.

The ideal options to take care of your health

When can I be eligible for Medicare?

People who meet any of the following characteristics may be eligible for Medicare:

  • People over 65 years of age.
  • Have any disability.
  • They have advanced kidney disease that requires dialysis.
  • Suffer from ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease.

Keep in mind that even 3 months before turning 65, you may already be eligible for Medicare and enjoy all the benefits that this insurance can provide you in terms of health in the United States.

What are the parts of Medicare?

Medicare is divided into a total of 4 parts, which cover different types of individual health expenses. These parts are as follows:

Part A (hospital insurance):

This covers the person's stays in a hospital and each of the medical expenses that arise from home services.

Part B (Medical Insurance):

Covers expenses for outpatient medical care and preventive services.

Part C (Medicare Advantage):

It is an insurance that provides comprehensive coverage, including the expenses of parts A, B and D. These are offered by private companies.

Part D (Prescription Drug Plan):

Covers the cost of the treatment that has been prescribed for the patient for their recovery and is known as PDP.

As you can see, each of these parts can provide you with different health benefits, so that you have medical coverage for any type of emergency that may arise.

Medicare Advantage

Medicare Advantage, also known as Medicare Part C, is an alternative that will allow you to obtain the benefits of coverage offered in parts A, B and D of Medicare plans. In other words, it is a "comprehensive" option, in which you will have greater health security.

This type of insurance is offered by private companies approved by Medicare, so it is important that you know very well which one to choose, in case you want to take out this type of insurance.

At Benefits Concierge Consulting Group, we can help you choose the best Medicare Advantage option for you, studying your profile very well and offering you the different alternatives that will help you choose the right insurance.

Medical Supplemental Policies (Medigap)

On the other hand, Medicare also offers supplemental policies that help cover some of the services that are not covered in Medicare Parts A and B. These are called Medical Supplemental Policies and are known as Medigap.

This insurance, like Medicare Advantage, is offered by private companies and, in some cases, also includes Medicare Prescription Drug Plan (PDP) coverage.

If you are interested in this type of insurance, at BCCG we can guide you to choose the best option for you, according to your needs. In this case we work with Empire Blue Cross & Blue Shield.

Prescription Drug Plan (Stand Alone PDP)

The Stand Alone Prescription Drug Plan (PDP) is a prescription drug insurance plan offered by private companies, which is separate from Medicare Part D, which we talked about earlier.

This type of insurance can be purchased by an individual who already has Medicare Part A and B benefits, which do not offer prescription drug coverage.

At BCCG we work with agencies like Silver Scripts, WellCare, and United Health Care, which can offer you this type of coverage.
